March 1st, 2028. 
Reports of increased North Korean activity along the 38th Parallel, Kim Jong Un states these are part of military exercises, refuses to answer questions regarding a massed buildup of artillery and Chinese aircraft stationed near the Parallel. 
March 5th, 2028.
North Korean saboteurs are apprehended trying to cross the border, many wind up dead in their holding cells, they were found to have been issued cyanide pills. South Korea sends a diplomatic protest to Kim Jung Un, demanding to know why saboteurs armed with explosives were trying to cross the border, these are ignored by the North. 
March 6th, 2028. 
South Korea begins mobilising, a draft is issued and reserves are called up, North Korea calls this “a blatant act of aggression”, still refusing to answer for the saboteurs. 
March 14th, 2028.
Chinese aircraft begin routinely violating South Korean and Taiwanese airspace, US aircraft are scrambled to escort them out of the airspace, more diplomatic protests are issued. 
March 16th, 2028.
A Chinese J 20 crashes into the East China Sea, pilot is lost and presumed dead, China claims it was the US that shot it down, China begins mobilising forces for a “proportional retaliatory strike”. The US denies any involvement in the downing of the J 20. 
March 18th, 2028.
03:46 hours. Contact is lost with a US P-8 Poseidon running routine anti-submarine patrols along the Taiwanese coast, locals report hearing an explosion and seeing a fireball crashing into the water, wreckage is later found washed up on a beach, identified as the missing aircraft. Investigation reveals scorch marks and shrapnel patterns consistent with Chinese Surface to air missiles. The US mobilises a task force from the Pacific fleet, places all forces on Taiwan and South Korea on high alert. US jets sink a Chinese Corvette in retaliation. 
March 20th, 2028. 
11:00 hours. US AWACS aircraft pick up dozens of contacts over the Taiwan Strait and the Sea of Japan, identified as Chinese and North Korean jets, all US forces in the area are mobilised, jets are scrambled, and the US Pacific Fleet is dispatched to the area. 
12:00 hours. Satellite imagery shows the Russian and Chinese Pacific fleets have left port, maritime patrol aircraft are dispatched to locate them. 
13:00 hours. Reports of explosions and airstrikes begin flooding in across Taiwan and South Korea, retaliatory airstrikes are ordered against vital military infrastructure in China and North Korea.
16:00 hours, the Chinese president Xi Xinping issues a formal declaration of war, North Korean troops begin marching across the 38th Parallel, and masses of Chinese landing ships are sent across the Taiwan Strait. 

You’ve been deployed as a Platoon of the 1st Marine Force Recon Company to the island of Utes, 230 miles Northwest of Vladivostok. You’re task is to take out the airfield on the island, and make it inoperable for the foreseeable future, satellite imagery shows this airfield is home to a squadron of SU 57s, and SU 34s, these pose a great threat to our operations in the area, and must be destroyed.
