As the dawn breaks on March 3rd, 1945, the Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, finds itself positioned outside of Lichtenwald in Western Germany, partaking in Operation Lumberjack. A significant undertaking that could turn the tide in the final stages of the European theater.
As the Allied forces push deeper into German territory, Operation Lumberjack aims to secure the Rhine River's west bank, a critical step towards the heart of Germany. Within this larger operation, a strategic valley with three key towns - Lichtenwald, Juliusth, and Marenice - forms a critical junction. Control of this area is vital for maintaining momentum and ensuring the success of Operation Lumberjack.
