This day in 1944, the Nemmersdorf massacre in East Prussia. Soviet soldiers reportedly killed dozens of German civilians as well as French and Belgian POWs. Citizens were raped, tortured and shot. Some were nailed to barn doors in crucified postures according to witnesses.
