This day in 1944, Japanese fighter ace Hiroyoshi Nishizawa died after being shot down in a Nakajima Ki-49 bomber by two American F6F Hellcat fighter aircraft. Nishizawa died as a passenger.
He claimed to have had 102 aerial victories.
