Attached Armour Platoon Interview
For this week’s article, I interviewed 2nd Lt. Imbalance, the head of the Attached Armour Platoon. This article will contain general knowledge about what the platoon entails, what they do, what you can learn in their school, how to join that platoon, and other information you may find useful.
Pvt.Patch:
2nd Lt. Imbalance, for how long have you been the head of the Attached Armour Platoon?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
Since around September 2020.
Pvt. Patch:
What would you say are the main responsibilities of your platoon in the operations in BiA?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
For Attached Armour, our primary responsibility is to support the main force in every task they undertake, from providing local fire support in heavy armour with our main guns and machine guns to transporting troops in APCs/IFVs, even supporting each squad with their designated tasks.
Pvt. Patch:
Regarding knowing when and how to handle heavy weaponry and using APCs/IFVs, is that already expected of a new member that joined the platoon or is it a skill that's developed over time?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
No, when joining the Attached Armour platoon, we will go through each step of how to operate all the equipment, from how to drive, gun and command. We will teach all aspects to new individuals through our four schools.
Pvt. Patch:
Which school belongs to your platoon?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
It would be the Armoured Training School, which does:
School of Driving;
School of Gunning;
School of Commanding;
Mock test.
Each one teaches people about critical information about the role they perform and what we expect as a member which leads to a final test which gets you the ribbon needed.
Pvt. Patch:
Would you say the teaching done in those schools is mainly directed towards new members with little to no knowledge on the field or even the more experienced members of BiA can learn something useful in those training sessions?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
The teaching is directed to both new and old, we teach from the ground up to BIA standards so even old players will learn new things.
Pvt. Patch:
What are the general requirements to join the platoon and what do you, as the head of the Attached Armour Platoon, specifically look for when considering new members?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
All we want is someone with a “can do" attitude, who can work in teams alongside a love of armour. Other than that, we will work up the skills required.
Pvt. Patch:
Once someone becomes a member of the platoon, will they be able to play in related slots every operation?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
Sadly not in every operation due to Armour not being in all ops, and sometimes there will not be enough assets for all the ops. But I make sure all my members will get a chance to be in an asset each week.
Pvt. Patch:
If a new member wanted to join your platoon today, what would be the necessary steps to achieve that?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
They should send me a message to say they are looking to join and then attend the school training in the first training of the month, followed by the second department training of the month, then the next month they join the first and second again. If they pass, they will become a full time member.
Pvt. Patch:
If you could choose one thing for all BiA members to know or to do during operations to help their medics, what would it be?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
I would say make sure to look both ways of the road before crossing.

Lastly, what message would you like to leave to the new members and all the readers of this article?
2nd Lt. Imbalance:
I'd say enjoy your time in BIA and look to make some long lasting friends.
